I'm posting this so I can point back at it and go 'hah, I was right!'.
Mom snipped at me, again, to clear out and get rid of stuff in the box room and generally purge and decide what of my stuff I keep and what i give/throw away. I understand it needs doing, I accept that. What I'm not too keen on is every time I try to take the stuff that's been earmarked for 'give away' (amounting to 3-4 boxes and a few bags in the garage, and a stack of neatly sorted stuff in the box room, on top of the 4 boxes of random books and stuff that were in the garage before I started) mom kind of sighs and says 'not today'.
The reason I ask mom is because A) we have a van, B) she's the one making me do it, C) I can't drive alone yet, and D) all she has to do is sit, drive and return.
So, the next time she snips at me for having too much stuff, I can turn to this and say "Y'know, the last time I tried to get rid of the stuff, you shot me down. It's already divided into keep and give away, I just need you to let me give it away."
End rant. Back to folding clothes.

Still alive.
Still working at the restaurant.
Still slogging through school - 2.5 months to go! .... then scary exam.
On a strange note, you can tell I'm poutine deprived when I'll settle for home-made student grade poutine. Shredded mozzarella, insta-gravy and 'ehh, they look don enough' fries. Though the gravy does taste better after you add garlic powder, onion powder, a smidge of beef bouillion, celery seed, ground black pepper and oregano..
but yeah. Student grade poutine, preceeded by gherkins and canned pineapple. My stomach is gonna kill me later.

So, I've got the med coverage from school, and had a dental thing. Went fine, I sent in a claim and have been waiting patiently since... and waiting... and waiting and getting less patient, but hey, 2-3 weeks might mean 3-4, yah?
I come home today to spot a letter for me, nice holiday envelope...postmarked from Florida. I don't know anyone in Florida who'd have my mailing address.
Increasingly odd.
But it's my name, my address and all, no sound of powder inside so I open it up and find...another envelope! It was from the claim company, and accompanied with a happy little note.
Seems that before these nice people moved to Florida they lived a street away from me...one that begins with the same prefix as mine. And they were at the same number (well.. 2=22 according to Canada post). And their last name started with the same letter as mine, so we -must- be the same house. Brilliant :)
Wouldn't be so bad normally, it's nearby. BUT the family had moved to Florida and kindly left that as their forwarding address so there too went my cheque :(
But all's now well, and a thankyou note is heading off to Florida soon. WHoot

Is it a big request to -want- to be able to spend time with friends?
Okay.. so I'm probably asking for trouble with this but:
Is anyone up for a showing of Across the Universe, at SilverCity (@Blair) either on saturday night (~10pm), Sunday (evening?) or Monday (any time, barring turkey?)?
My preference would probably be Sunday evening/night, or Monday day/evening, since those are non-work days and I can be properly social, but whatever.
I'm eying Dan and Meg, and Ali and Jan with this, in patricular, since we all kinda went Squeeeee over the trailer together on separate occasions, but all and sundry are welcome, so long as we can get a single time picked out.
Email to myfirstnamemylastname at hotmaildotcom (the addy I use for MSN, if that helps cause I'm not putting the real address up here :p ) -or- any other of my addresses you know of. I'll get them :)

So, seeing as I'm officially turning past a quarter century on the Saturday, the 21st, does anyone maybe want to catch a late movie after I'm off work? I figure with traveling home, changing and getting back out to a theater (assuming bus or bike) a 9pm-ish or later showing might work?
If not, no big deal.
If not, no big deal.
It's almost 3 am already, I'm working today (Thursday) on a dinner shift, I have to co-ordinate travel for con-stuff tomorrow, do photocopying, ring counting and about a half dozen other things before even -getting- to the hotel tomorrow to setup the art show, and I'm not bloody well asleep!?!
Every year.. it's either art stuff, or organizing junk or just plain restlessness and fidgeting, but I never sleep the night before con setup. Can't figure out why.
Oh well... C-ACE setup tomorrow.

Remember this: (http://shayded-kelly.livejournal.com/7 0589.html#cutid1) my lovely fight with teh evil computer world...
The machine's upstairs right now, refusing to boot...again. Y'know the problem that had it sent back to the store, and then back to the HP people? yeah.. fun.
Joy
glee
Time to break out a few tricks, then a few kneecaps.
So if I'm around even less over the next few days, that's why.

Here's my new bike:

Cute little thing, though apparently it reminds mom of the little circus bikes... so I've got a new theme song!
One more thing to get though: Soft seat! *sore butt*

I passed all my courses (yes, there was one I was worried about, having actually left something blank on the exam for the first time inn 5 years). one year down, one to go!
I'm going to AN - got time off work and there's happy lovely people I can share ride/room with. Whoot!
Work's steady for the summer, as always.
I'm eying a folding bike...no, really. There's apparently an adult-size one for a reasonable price, so I'm going to go look at it before work today

New computer's arrived and I'm working out the kinks with it, but is weems to be going well.
Classes are going well, if very busily. I'm very much looking forward to next week (reading week for us here)
If all goes well, I might try to do a gaming thingy (probably on a wednesday), but that depends on people's schedules and everything.
Not too much happening.. work,s chool, sleep. Same old same old.
Fun stuff:
Bought the Beauty and the Beast Season 1 DVDs (YAY!!!!)
umm...tha's about it :P

Computer's still MIA.
Recieved and got my new phone working.
Survived the first test week, got a few more coming up next week.
Assignments are going...well, they're just going.
Not much else to say right now. Busy with work, wishI had some sort of social life, but that's a moot point until I'm 67 and an old lady playing Euchre with her 15 cats.
Toodles!

#1 - The computer has gone on a Mystical Adventure to the HP factory, in order to be poked and prodded and hopefully fixed.
#2 - Rogers is apparently nixing the service that my cell uses, but I've been able to upgrade to a useable phone and keep my phone plan. yay.
#3 - I lied...I've had the joy of putting off my dentist appointment even more. was supposed to be December 21st...it's now march 13, cause that's the first available appointment that doesn't conflict with a test (reason I had to change it again) or class, or make it impossible to be at school/work or whatever that day. But mostly, it's the first available one.
Whee.

So we're Sunday today... let's go back two weeks, shall we?
( long stuff to follow )
so.. yeah.. 2 weeks later and back where I started.

Now it's time for sleep.

You're having dinner made for you, start to finish, including being served.
You've got two options:
Roast pork tenderloin, with potatoes served to order (boiled, mashed, roast etc) and you choice of cut green beans an/or whole kernel corn.
OR
Generic KD Mac and Cheese.
Which do you choose?
Apparently, if you're my mother (who, oddly enough rants that "If it comes in a box, it's not real food") you choose KD.
Blargh :p
So no pork tenderloin for me 'til saturday or sunday

4 pairs of cute fun socks
2 pairs of warm fuzzy socks
1 pair of home-made 'house socks' - basically slipper thingies
1 warm-and-fuzzy bathrobe (which had a matching pair of warm and fuzzy socks, listed above)
1 book - Eragon
1 ticket to Evanescence on Jan 10th - Work can kiss my butt, I'm taking the night off
1 Kingdom Hearts 2 (to me, from me...teehee)
1 home-made crochet vest
1 hatscarf - still in progress (long scarf, with a hood built in to keep my ears warm.. or is that a hood with a built in scarf? :p)
1 Northern Reflections gift card (mmm turtlenecks!)
1 Webcam - may or may not be exchanged, depends how many people I know with one.
also got some little stocking stuffer type goodies, including a booklight, keychain, clock/calendar combo, and a mini cast iron fry pan.
Was a good day
